Standard Bank K-H Xtrail 2024 - Solo. Please note the KH Xtrail is a Team event. The Solo Event is a social event, no prizes. Please read rules for the Solo event.
Standard Bank KH X-Trail (Xtrail 1 in the Standard Bank Series)
Date: Sun 9 June 2024
Location: Farm Godeis. 70km west of Windhoek.
- From Windhoek head west on the C28 in directions of Daan Viljoen for 30 km
- Turn right onto D1958, continue for 19 km
- Turn right onto D1420, continue for 12 km
Follow the signs to Farm Godeis about 4 km
The majority of the road is gravel but accessible by 2x4 vehicle

The route
This is a trail run. The route takes place on a combination of jeep track, single track, and no track.
The route will be marked with bunting. In addition the 7km route will be marked with a white triangle painted on rocks. The 16km route will be marked with a white circle painted on the rocks. The routes do not overlap.
Participants must adhere to the designated route and may not take any short cuts.
Any participant who diverges from the designated route for any reason must return to the route at the same point that they exited the route and then continue on the designated route.
The Race Organisers reserve the right to modify the route at short notice.
Team Rules:
- Teams can comprise of 2 or 3 members.
- Prizes for best dressed teams
- Team members must stay together at all times during the race.
- Team members must start the race together.
- Team members must cross the finish line together.
- Team members that are separated by more than 2 minutes during the race will receive a time penalty.
Solo Rules
- The K-H Xtrail is a team race, but some people may not be able to find a team or a team mate may get ill.
- A person can take part as an individual but then they are part of the social category which means they are not eligible for prizes on the day.
- For the Standard Bank Xtrail Series we take your best positions in 2 out of 3 of the Xtrail events.
- If you partook in the K-H xtrail as an individual then we will add 5 minutes to your time for the 7km distance and 10minutes for the 17km distance.
Environment
- Littering will not be tolerated.
- Any offence reported may lead to disqualification of the offender.
- All containers and packaging must be carried and only disposed at official bins/support areas.
- In general please respect the environment. We are making use of private property.
Safety
- Participants need to assess for themselves (and /or minors) whether they are fit enough to take part.
- All participants take part in the event at their own risk and indemnify the organisers, sponsors, host and other authorities of any loss or injury, however that loss or injury may be caused which might occur in preparation for, during or subsequent to the event and in any circumstances in which the organisers, sponsors and local and other authorities might attract a legal liability in respect of such injury or loss.
- This is an off road event and participants must be aware that there are certain risks inherent in an off road events. Some of the risks are mentioned below. This is not a definitive list of all risk.
- The route is a combination of jeep track, cattle path and no paths. There is loose gravel and stones and the surface is uneven. Please walk or run with care to prevent injuries.
- For off road running it is recommended that you make use of trail running shoes, which provide greater support and traction. Should you be injured please request your fellow runners/walkers to notify the next marshal on route so that arrangements can be made to get assistance to you.
- Other possible dangers in a trail route include wild animals.

HYDRATION/WATER TABLES
In trail runs/walks the participants are responsible for their own hydration. This means you need to bring your own liquid along.
We are aware that many people in Namibia may be new to trail running. Consequently there will be one emergency water tables on each route. On the 7km route the watertable is at 3.5km. On the 16km route the watertable is at 7km mark.
Enjoying your day/weekend at Farm Godeis
On Sunday morning the farm will sell coffee/tea/hot chocolate and brotchens. Later in the day they will serve steack brotchens. Coldrinks and beer will also be available. There will also be a farmers market.
Overnighting/Camping

General Rules
Competitors shall:
- Practice good sportsmanship at all times,
- Be responsible for their own safety,
- Obey instructions from race officials,
- Treat other competitors, officials, volunteers, and spectators with respect and courtesy,
- If they violate a rule knowingly report the violation to timekeepers or Yvonne Brinkmann.
- Inform timekeepers if they withdraw from a race
- Ensure that they are familiar with the race course; the participant is responsible for any deviations from route which if deemed an unfair advantage may result in disqualification.
- Competitors shall ensure that race numbers are clearly displayed on the front of their shirts at all times. Further instructions about race numbers and finishing protocol will be announced at the start of the race. Please pay attention to these instructions, as they are important for accurate time keeping.
- A competitor who has a protest must do so in writing within 15 minutes of his/her finish time. Written protests are to be handed in at timekeeper table or to Yvonne Brinkmann.
- Competitor can be suspended for unsportsmanlike conduct and fraud. The event organiser’s decision is final and will be made in consultation with relevant people.
- No items deemed to be a hazard to self or others can be worn e.g. no headsets or headphones.
